I have always wanted to see Hoover Dam too! Although one of my best memory's of vacation as a kid was driving over the top of Grand Collie Dam, then taking the tour of one of the power plants. (of course this was before 9/11, you can't drive across the top of the dam anymore but they have started giving tours again!)
The two friends stood for a few moments on the windy street corner, not speaking a word, as two travelers, who have lost their way, sometimes stand and admit their perplexity in silence. As a kid we took a tour of the dam. Pretty amazing to be inside that thing!
